Three ways to play, all the same game.

  1. 1

    Pick how you'll play

Everything is on the game's page. Each version keeps its own progress.

In your browserPress Play in Your Browser. Works on computers, tablets and phones in an up-to-date browser, with nothing to install. Your puzzle in progress is kept in that browser.

  2. 3

    Choose a size

Chapter 3

Put it together

  1. 4

    Drag a piece

Press a piece and drag it; it lifts a little so your finger doesn't hide it. Let go close to a matching piece and they snap together; joined pieces move as one.

    • Let go of a piece near where it belongs and it jumps into place on the picture.
    • Loose pieces always sit above joined ones, so nothing hides underneath.
    • A faded piece (see Edges) needs a short hold before it moves: a glow traces its outline, then it's yours.

  2. 5

    Move around the table

Drag the empty table to move around, and pinch to zoom (or use the mouse wheel). Double-tap the table to fit the table or the picture to the screen.

    • Fit does the same from the toolbar.
  3. 6

    Finish

Place the last piece and the puzzle celebrates with confetti and a card with your time and moves. Start a new one from there.

Chapter 4

The tools

The toolbar runs down the side on a wide screen and along the bottom on a tall one.

  1. 7

    Ghost

A faint copy of the picture on the table, where the puzzle goes. It's on by default; tap to turn it off for more of a challenge.

    Ghost off: just the frame
  2. 8

    Edges

Fades every piece but the border ones, so you can build the frame first. Narrow it to Top, Bottom, Left or Right (they combine), or just the Corners.

  3. 9

Shows the whole picture. Tap anywhere to close it.

  4. 10

    Shuffle, Fit and Hint

Shuffle spreads the loose pieces out again around the picture. Fit fits the picture and every piece on screen. Hint points out a piece and its spot: three per puzzle.

Chapter 5

Saving and the cat

  1. 11

    Leave any time

Your puzzle saves itself after every move and whenever the app is paused. Come back, even after closing the app or reloading the page, and every piece, joined chunk, your time and your hints are as you left them.

    • It's saved on your device (or in that browser) only.
    • A finished puzzle starts fresh.
    Leave any time
    On a phone
  2. 12

    The cat

A black cat with a pink collar sleeps beside your puzzle. Tap her to pet her; she sits up to watch some snaps and purrs when you finish. Leave the game alone for 30 seconds and she gets bored and pushes some loose pieces around.

    • Turn off Cat pushes pieces around in Settings and she only makes them shiver.

Chapter 6

Settings

  1. 13

    Settings

    On the start screen.

    • Snap strength, haptics, how far a dragged piece lifts, and sound volume.
    • Snap pieces to the picture, Show timer, Ghost image on table, and Cat pushes pieces around.
    • Table: the Wooden Desk from the start, and a Felt Mat after 5 solved puzzles.
    • Accessibility: Atkinson Hyperlegible or Lexend in place of the handwriting, larger text, and bolder text.
