Tidepool Keeper · version 0.2.3

A pool that keeps its own time

You've inherited a tidepool called The Sundry, and the notebook of the keeper before you. The tide comes and goes on its own clock; come back when it does, see what it left, and fill the notebook a page at a time. Here's how it all works.

Chapter 2

The Sundry

The pool is the home screen.

  1. 2

    Meet the pool

A short tutorial walks you round the first time; skip it or replay it from Settings whenever you like. The card at the top shows whether the tide is coming in or going out, the pool's mood in its own words, and when the next tide arrives.

    • The mood follows the tide, the hour, the moon and the season.

  2. 3

    Tap the water

Tap the pool and it ripples. Now and then a visitor drops by around a tide window, a gull, a crab, a small fish or a moth; tap them too.

Chapter 3

Tides and collecting

Every high and low tide is a window, by day or in the dark, and each one leaves something behind.

  1. 4

    Collect what washes in

When windows have passed, the button says Collect 2 Windows (or however many). Press it and a wave washes the finds onto the pool. Tap each one to pick it up, or Gather All.

    • Anything you miss waits for you, up to 7 days.
    • There are twelve kinds of finds, three for each kind of window: low tide by day, high tide by day, low tide in the dark and high tide in the dark.

    The Clipboard

The tide chart, from 12 hours ago to 36 hours ahead, with the dark hours shaded. Every window arrives about 50 minutes later each day, so the rhythm keeps moving. Below it: the moon, the kind of tide, and a forecast of the next windows.

    • The Tide Almanac on the Workbench lets you read further ahead: 3, 7, then 14 days.

    • Edit a stamped page any time, then Stamp Again to keep the change.
    • Finish a section, every find from one window, for a small bonus from that window.
