Plan your kit, see it from every side, and hear it.
Drummers have always traded bird's-eye sketches of their kits. Drum Kit Layout Builder turns that sketch into a proper tool: lay the kit out to real sizes, check how it looks from the audience or the throne, tap the pieces to hear them, and save or export the result. It runs in your browser or installs on Windows, and works just as well on a phone.
Windows 10 or 11. Unzip it and double-click Install.cmd; no admin rights needed. Uninstall any time from Settings → Apps.
What It Does
Real Sizes
Every drum, cymbal and stand is drawn to scale on a 2-inch grid, from 8" splashes to 26" kicks, so what fits on screen fits on the riser.
Three Views
Top-down from the throne, the front view the audience sees (with heights and tilts), and the drummer's view looking out, all from the same layout.
Play Mode
Tap or click any piece to hear it, with several fingers at once on a touch screen. Sounds are tuned by size, bells and open hi-hats included.
Finishes and Style
Switch between clean line art and a shaded look with bronze cymbals and chrome hardware, and give the shells any colour or fade.
Starter Kits
Begin from jazz, rock, fusion or double-bass layouts, or from blank paper, and mirror any kit for left-handed players.
Save and Export
Kits save themselves in the browser, and to .drumkit files you can reopen. Export PNG, JPEG or SVG with graph paper and a title.
How It Works
- Start from a template or blank paper; a short guided tour shows you around the first time.
- Drag pieces from the palette, then move, turn and resize them. Snapping keeps things neat; hold Alt for free placement.
- Check the front and drummer's views, set heights and tilts, and try play mode to hear the kit.
- Save the kit, or export a picture to print or send to your band.
