Lyric Timer
Timed lyrics for any song, tapped by hand.
Timed lyrics make a song feel alive: they light up line by line in music players and become captions for videos. Lyric Timer makes them by hand, simply: play the song and tap along as each line starts. It's the same tool behind the lyrics that follow along on this site's Music Portfolio.
Windows 10 or 11. Unzip it (right-click, Extract All), then double-click Install Lyric Timer; no admin rights needed. If Windows asks, choose Run (or More info, then Run anyway). Uninstall any time from Settings → Apps.
What It Does
Tap Along
Press Space to play, then Space again as each line begins. Tapped at the wrong moment? Backspace undoes it.
Easy Fixes
Click any line to select it, then move it a tenth of a second earlier or later with the arrow keys, and play it back to check. Clicking never changes a time by accident.
Suno-Ready
Suno MP3s bring their own lyrics and cover art, read straight from the file. For anything else, paste the words in.
Live Preview
Watch the lyrics light up with the song before you export. Spot one that’s off and jump straight to fixing it.
Every Format
Export LRC for music players, SRT and VTT captions for video, plain text, or JSON for your own projects.
Guided From the Start
A step-by-step guide with pictures opens the first time you use it, and is always a click away after that.
Private by Design
It runs entirely on your computer. Nothing is uploaded, and your work is kept between sessions.
How It Works
- Unzip the download and double-click Install Lyric Timer. It opens by itself; next time, find it in the Start menu.
- Choose a Song. It opens in your Music folder, or drop a song on the window.
- Check the lyrics: they come with Suno MP3s, or paste your own.
- Press Space to play, then Space as each line starts. Click a line to fix it.
- Preview the timing, then export the format you need.
